Don’t pop away those pop cans!

We are collecting pop cans for a solar project. During tonight’s meeting, Webelo den leader Tom Clark will be explaining to you more about this energy saving idea. We built a prototype out or cardboard so everyone can see how it will look when we are done. The finished project will be made out of wood and have some clear plastic covering it to keep the rain out. So save those pop cans!

Tonight’s activities

Tonight we are hosting a Lego statue building competition.
The winning entry will be able to display their creative statue in the church for all to see. Good luck and happy building! Or if you are not interested in the Lego competition there are other activities like ball tag outside, or you can play with Spooky the electronic skeleton. We hope you are excited!

Summer Memories

Next week we would like all scouts to bring in pictures, movies, written summaries and souvenirs from places you visited or interesting things that you did over the summer. Each scout will have the opportunity to make a presentation to the group and show us what you did over the summer.

Announcing our new assistant!

We have a new den assistant for the Webelos group.
His name is Joshua Clark and he is a 4th grader at Parkside Elementary school.
Josh is a 10 year old first year Webelo who is eager to gain some experience at assisting with scout meetings and activities. So, if you’re looking for Josh at meetings, he’s the kid with blond hair, big brown eyes, and a lot of cool ideas!

It‘s really Spooky!

But don’t be scared of this computer controlled animatronic skeleton, because “Spooky” is all about having fun! Find out how to make him talk and move, so you can have a conversation with your friends and neighbors this Halloween.

R2-D2 Replica!

May the Force be with you! We will all be working together to build a genuine Star Wars R2D2 droid made of wood, plastic, and electronics. Complete with sound effects like bleeps, blips, and sighs, you’re sure to want him at your next party! Stay tuned for more photos.

Popcorn!

Fund Raiser: We will be launching our popcorn fund raiser very soon and this year we hope to achieve our best sales ever! Don’t forget you can win some really exciting prizes for selling popcorn and as always, we will be selling to customers outside of Krogers and Wal-Mart, as well as door to door.

Projects!

As far as our projects go, we will be covering them here on the website. So if you miss a meeting or forget what you need to bring feel free to check back. For starters we will be building a solar powered heater. Using recycled pop cans we will be building a box to hold our cans and after painting them black they will absorb the suns energy and heat your home or workshop. We will be building this in stages and will probably complete it by Thanksgiving.
